Monique Maday lives and works mainly in Western Switzerland, after many years spent in Amsterdam. In addition to her own art work, she gives various courses and workshops and organizes creative events in companies.
Highlights of her artistic journey include:
- 1992 "Itinéraire Aquatique", Musée du Manoir in Martigny/CH
- 1994/95 "Yin Yang", a major painting project at the Laforêt Center, Lake Yamanako- ka, Japan
- 2000 "Premiers regards" et "Sérénité", underground installations, 20 Years Het Veem, Amsterdam
- 2001 Opening exhibition of the Galerie im Park (GIP), at the Museum Franz Gertsch, Burgdorf/CH
- 2002 "Collection d'Art de la Banque Vaudoise", Musée Jenisch, Vevey/CH
- 2002 Art field project in Phuket, Thailand: setting up a self-sustaining creative workplace with a group of HIV-positive Thai women. A research project focusing on Asian approaches to death and serenity
- 2003 "Kunstkijken Monnickendam 03", Monnickendam/Nl, solo exhibition and outdoor monumental installation
- 2004 "Entretemps" (“Meanwhile”), Espace Culturel d’Assens/CH
Monique Maday’s work can be seen in private and corporate collections in Japan, USA, the Netherlands and Switzerland, including the Mori, BCV, PTT, Nestlé and Crédit Suisse collections.
